"Caldroun of Volcano Sollipulli" (2 days)
|A discreet view from a distance, the Volcano Nevados de Sollipulli has one of the most wild and overwhelming landscapes in the Araucanía region. It is located in a volcano complex called Los Nevados del Sollipulli, inside the Villarrica National Reserve between the towns Melipeuco and Curarrehue. This volcano has the remains of one of the biggest volcanic explosions in history. On its volcanic part, Sollipulli is part of a compound complex double caldroun, whose diameters vary between four and five kilometers originating from a crater with a diameter of 5 km which today has a huge glacier with a thickness of about 200m and a surface of about 12,5km² inside. Sollipulli is 2,282 meters above sea level, and the glacier that fills its crater has a thickness of 650 meters and a diameter of four km. It is a geothermic area with hundreds of geisers, and if this wasn’t enough, all of this scenery is dotted with little emerald colored lagoons and thermal water, making it one of the most primitive sceneries in the Araucanía. All of this makes the Nevados del Sollipulli an incredible place that is necessary to visit. Few are fortunate enough to arrive at the top of the volcano and have the priviledge to witness one of the most interesting geological phenomenons that nature can offer us.|
