Interpretive Hike
"Base of Volcano Villarrica"underline mini

If you are rather fit but not up for hiking to the crater of active Volcano Villarrica, this is your hike. From the base “Juncalillo” at 1,200 meters above sea level, you walk up to the cafeteria of the Ski Center on the volcano, at 1,441 m.a.s.l. From here, you will ascend another 426 meters to have a beautiful sight over the lakes Villarrica, Colico, Caburgua and Calafquén. You will also see the Trancura River and the volcanoes Lanin and Lonquimay in the distance. You will be walking on the massive, active volcano, accompanied by a tour guide. You may have the opportunity to observe red deer in their natural habitat and, during winter months, you can sled down the snow covered hills. If you like, you can have a picnic before returning to Pucón.
